What parents notice first

Real changes, described by families at Amaze.

Children become confident enough to try.

Even when English feels difficult, children begin to speak, answer questions, and use English naturally at school, at home, and in public.

"My child used to refuse English completely. Now she answers back and keeps trying."

They learn sounds and meaning – not memorisation.

Parents notice real understanding through phonics, listening, and meaning, instead of memorising words without context.

"She's not just repeating words – she understands what she's saying."

They look forward to learning.

Classes feel safe, engaging, and enjoyable – children leave smiling and want to return.

"For the first time, my daughter reminds me when it's time for English class."

The learning journeyEnglish skills at Amaze

Phonics is an important starting point at Amaze, helping children understand how sounds blend into words. From there, learning expands naturally.

πŸ“–

Reading & Phonics

As phonics skills grow, children begin connecting words into sentences using sight words, punctuation, capitalization, and simple grammar patterns. Reading skills develop through guided practice and storytelling.

✏️

Writing & Expression

Writing develops alongside reading through picture prompts, structured activities, and independent thinking exercises. Children learn to describe, build sentences, and express ideas clearly.

πŸ’¬

Listening & Speaking

Listening and speaking skills are woven into every class through games, songs, conversations, and age-appropriate topics – such as family, daily routines, colors, shapes, and the world around them.

Because Amaze is an after-school program, our lessons are designed to feel relaxed and enjoyable. When children smile, laugh, and feel safe to try, they build confidence and perform at their best.

Real student stories

Learning journeys at Amaze.

Mathew's Story

Mathew attended a well-known international school but struggled with reading. At Amaze, teachers slowed down and focused on decoding and confidence. Within months, reading stopped being a struggle and Mathew started volunteering to read aloud.

Shu & Ryo

Shu and Ryo were falling behind despite extra tutoring. Teachers explained the issue wasn't effort – it was pacing. Once lessons matched how they processed information, progress became steady and visible.

Questions exploredParents often ask us

Clear, honest answers.

What ages do you teach?

We teach children ages 4–12, with lessons adapted to suit each age group and learning stage.

What is the assessment like for my child?

The assessment feels very similar to a regular Amaze class. Children usually settle in quickly, as it is relaxed, interactive, and guided gently by the teacher.

After the session, we explain what we observed, what your child is already comfortable with, and what would help them progress next.

How often should my child attend lessons?

We recommend two lessons per week to maintain consistency and progress. We can adjust the schedule based on your child's needs and your family's availability.

How will I know my child is improving?

Parents often notice changes in confidence, participation, and willingness to speak before anything else.

See how progress is shared β†’

Written progress reports are shared at the end of each course (around 40 lessons), covering reading, writing, listening, speaking, and phonics development.

Teachers monitor progress closely and are always happy to discuss observations or answer questions.

How quickly will my child improve?

Progress depends on starting level, attendance frequency, and individual learning pace. Most students show noticeable improvements within a few months of consistent attendance.

Every child develops at their own pace, and this is perfectly normal. We provide regular feedback so you can track specific skill development over time.

A gentle, fun-filled introduction

Every child begins with an introductory session that feels like a real class – interactive and friendly

Rather than focusing on a single skill, the session helps us understand your child's overall learning level across phonics, reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

For children who need more time to settle in, additional trial sessions may be recommended to help them feel comfortable and confident before joining a regular class.
